Exam Scope

This bundle includes Engineering Surveying Practice Exams 1 and 2, with 110 different questions in total, covering the California Civil Engineering Surveying exam. They are not only simulated exams; they are also a comprehensive training resource in which every problem is explained in detail and presented after you complete each exam attempt. Upon completion of an exam, you will have access to fully worked, step-by-step solutions covering survey planning, field data collection, data analysis, mapping and construction surveying, including leveling, traverses, horizontal and vertical curves, areas, coordinates, and construction staking.

Your performance in each exam is broken down by the engineering surveying exam categories (the content areas of the BPELSG test plan), allowing you to clearly identify strengths and weaknesses within each content area and track your progress from one exam to the next. The category results are presented upon completion of each exam.

Exam Structure & Question Design

Each exam is timed at 2.5 hours, matching the length of the actual exam. The exams cover a broad range of topics and difficulty levels to ensure balanced preparation. Approximately 15–20% of the questions are low difficulty, 40–45% are medium difficulty, and 20–25% are high difficulty. In addition, roughly 30–35% of the questions are conceptual, designed to test true understanding of the material, while the remainder are calculation-based.

Access to both exams is valid for three months (12 weeks) from the purchase date.

Online Practice Exam Bundle (Exam 1 & 2)

This bundle of two online practice exams is designed to help you train, test, and evaluate your readiness for the California Civil Engineering Surveying Exam while you also learn the conceptual background. Each exam contains 55 original, non-AI-generated questions, developed and reviewed by experienced engineers, that closely reflect the coverage, style, and difficulty of the actual Engineering Surveying Exam while also serving as an effective learning tool. The two exams contain different questions, giving you 110 questions in total.

Both practice exams include material from the five content areas defined in the California Civil Engineering Surveying Examination Test Plan (2022), published by the Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists (BPELSG). Each exam has 55 questions, distributed as follows:

  1. Survey Planning: approximately 25%
  2. Field Data Collection: approximately 15%
  3. Data Analysis and Evaluation: approximately 30%
  4. Mapping: approximately 10%
  5. Construction Surveying: approximately 20%
