Petro Publications was founded in the United States in 2023 with one clear goal: to raise the standard of professional engineering learning.
When we first explored the market, we found that much of the available PE preparation material focused on short-term outcomes often without supporting true understanding. We believe that without real learning, success becomes uncertain and the process unnecessarily difficult.
Petro Publications was created to fill this gap in quality and education
At Petro Publications, learning comes first. Our materials are designed to help engineers truly understand core concepts, retain knowledge, and apply them with confidence, not only for the exam, but throughout their professional careers.
Every publication we offer is the result of years of development, refinement, and real-world engineering experience.
Our defining features
One of our defining principles is how our content is created. We take full ownership of every word, example, and explanation. We DO NOT rely on AI-generated material, unlike much of the content available today. High-stakes engineering education requires judgment, accountability, and technical depth. Our content is authored by real people and reviewed by experienced and real engineers to ensure accuracy, clarity, and lasting value.
Another defining feature of Petro Publications is our learning visual aids. Our books include proprietary sketches, diagrams, and tables—depending on the material selected—created specifically to simplify complex topics and enhance learning.
Before any technical content is written, we invest heavily in planning and strategy. We identify gaps in learning and determine the most effective way to present material, so engineers understand it, remember it, and most importantly, enjoy learning it. We review hundreds of references and thousands of pages of technical resources, codes, and manuals so you don’t have to—we do the research on your behalf and deliver only what truly matters.

Petro Publications helps thousands of engineers prepare and obtain their engineering licensure across the United States, including the state-specific examinations required in California. Our approach is reflected in the strong feedback we receive across professional engineering communities.
